विवरण

Siddhak Janeu for puja (also called Yajnopavita, Yagyopavit, Janeyu or sacred thread) is one of the most revered symbols in Sanatana Dharma. Worn across the left shoulder and resting on the right side, the Janeu represents purity, discipline, responsibility and a life dedicated to Dharma.

It is first worn at the Upanayana (sacred thread ceremony) and is then worn during daily Sandhya Vandana, Gayatri japa, homas, yajnas and all major Hindu rituals. Our Janeu is made with high-quality cotton threads, twisted and knotted in the traditional way.

Meaning and tradition

  • Symbol of the "twice-born" (Dvija): the Upanayanam marks a second birth into spiritual learning, Vedic study and righteous conduct.
  • The three strands are interpreted as body, mind and speech; sattva, rajas and tamas (the three gunas); or the duties owed to Devas, Rishis and Pitris.
  • Worn daily, it is a reminder to live a disciplined life, follow one's dharma, chant the Gayatri mantra and stay connected to the Divine.

Benefits

  • Traditional design and proportions: made following customary Vedic guidelines for length, knotting and number of strands
  • High-quality cotton thread: soft on the skin, strong enough for everyday use
  • Sacred knot (Brahma Granthi) tied in the traditional manner
  • Lightweight and comfortable for daily wear during work, study, prayer and meditation
  • Ritual-ready and clean for homas, yajnas, vratas, festivals and temple visits
